hope wish 用法

hope 與 wish 用法上是有區別的:

1. hope , 中譯為「希望」,用法較單純，只能用在【直述囗吻】［Indicative Mood］

例:

I hope（that）he will get a good result. 【that 作為子句的conj. , 在作Object 的情況下，是可以省略的】

Tom hoped that he would see the baby. 【would 在這裡是will 的過去式，仍是直述口吻】

2.
wish, 中譯為「願望」，一般跟著的子句用假設/虚擬囗吻【即以past tense 的奇怪形式表達非過去時態】

例:
I wish （that ）I were you.
但願我是你就好了。

I wish I could fly like a bird.

I wish the tragedy had stopped.

但願悲劇已停止（似乎還未停止）。

I wished I hadn’t been late.【如wish 用過去，跟著的子句用過去完成】。

May wished she had had a baby.
