IELTS Writing 雅思寫作如何拿7分至9分-什麼是Coheren
讓我們了解一下IELTS的評分標準:
– Task Achievement 回答是否切題;
– Coherence and Cohesion 連貫性及流暢度;
– Lexical Resource 詞彙使用量
– Grammatical Range and Accuracy 句型多樣性与文法的準確度。
（四項分數比重相同）
在以上第一點:切題（連結按此）、第三點:詞彙（連結按此）是通識與單詞累積的問題，這個我們已經在其他文章有講過了。而第四點：句型的多樣性–只要對「7句型」熟悉運用了就不難掌握，可惜大部分香港中學生學了英文多年，寫作只會用4個句型左右。
而Coherence and Cohesion 對很多考生來說，可說是最抽象的。其實，你只要掌握到運用3個家族的複合句技巧，短時間內拉高分數絕不是難事。
舉個例子吧！【一段講論Globalization （全球化）的例子】
(例一)
The globalization is an interdependent planet. Many relationships are not limited to territorial boundaries. A country is affected by activities of other countries.
很簡單，這三個簡單句字。文法全對，IELTS大約6分左右。
但是如果你能運用到形容語（第二家族）及修飾語（第三家族），配合主句（第一家族），沖上8分是有可能的。
看看上面例句吧！relationship 一字，絕對可以在「形容語」上大造文章！想想國與國間的relationship: 可以是economical 經濟、social 社會、religion宗教、political 政治、cultural文化、military 軍事…上的…（這樣運用第二家族:形容語）
再想一下，將3句合成一句行嗎？當然可以。你的7+3 功力就在這裡應用到了。將第二句的「形容組合」以where 開一個defining clause, 來形容planet 這名詞。還有，將第三句以and 連結（第三家族），並以「負負得正」的另一個方式表達:
The process of globalization is an unprecedented （前所未有）interdependent planet where economical, social, religion, political, cultural and military relationships are not limited to territorial boundaries and no countries or states or entities are not affected by outside its direct control. （39 words）
一句複合句都差不多40字，加些起起承轉合的connective words, 再組合多幾段複合句，填滿200字。
由6分writing 提升到接近8.5分以上的程度。為什麼？理由很簡單，就是你跟外國人一樣，懂將三個家族複合來用，給人的感覺:你跟native 老手沒差兩樣！
舉多個例子吧！(例二)
First and foremost, Hong Kong is a renowned city. The scenery of Victoria Harbour is mesmerizing and stunning. Countless of skyscrapers and tall towers were built along the harbor front.
這句用字是不錯的。IELTS 6.5分左右吧(因這考生只懂用簡單句子)。那怎樣兩欄都衝8分呢?
將3句變成1句「複合句」！將第3句變成第2句scenery這名詞的形容語。如下:
First and foremost, Hong Kong is a renowned city for its mesmerizing Victoria Harbour and stunning scenery embellished (裝飾) 【運用第二家族的形容語技術】by countless skyscrapers and tall towers built(建成) 【運用第二家族的形容語技術】along the harbor front.
這樣就是8分句子。
這就是coherence & cohesion 了！其實IELTS 寫作拿8分不是難事。文章其實不一定需要很艱澀的單詞的。能善用3個家族的組合複合句，邏輯清晰及具連接度，你都可以向9分挑戰的。
再舉多個例子吧！(例三)
You could possibly send me some brochures. Be sure that they contain the information on membership and associated fee. If the brochures are not available, please provide me the contact details of any such clubs. So, I can make my own enquiries.
這段英文如用在Oral是非常不錯的段落，邏輯清晰，容易明白。但是，如用在IELTS的寫作，就算語法全對，6.5分吧 。
怎樣衝上8分呢? 關鍵都是: 主句+形容語+修飾語的「複合句」。第一句的brochures是一個noun，可以將第二句變成形容brochures的「形容短語」。還有一共四句，太冗長了，變成一句吧！用「修飾語」的邏輯關係連結成一句，如下：
If so, you could possibly send me some brochures containing the information on membership and associated fee, or at least provide me the contact details of any such clubs so that I can make my own independent enquiries. (38 words)
又是一句8分句子。
怎樣提高自己寫作的「模仿能力」? 關鍵不是死記，而是懂將一些高分句了拆分成3個家族(主句+形容語+修飾語) 。英文說穿了，100%英文都只是就是這3個家族的混合而已！
